Built to Protect
Formed in 2022, SSi Fire Solutions was established to bring Greenex Condensed Aerosol Fire Suppression technology to Canada, helping protect critical infrastructure across the North.
Serving the North
SSi Canada’s work focuses on Northern and Remote Indigenous communities, where conventional fire suppression systems aren’t always practical.
The Solution
Greenex offered the ideal combination of environmental protection, safety, and reliability for the unique challenges of the North.
Primarily Greenex is environmentally friendly and the components of it are recyclable, it poses no risk to the sensitive ecological conditions of the north and has one of the lowest score of any suppression product on the Ozone depletion index.
Greenex is also non conductive for electrical components and more importantly it is non corrosive to sensitive electronic equipment which was of vital importance for the critical infrastructure of SSi in these communities we serve.
This feature was a leading factor in the Department of National Defence to chose and tender as the only acceptable product to replace all the Gas Suppression systems in the 47 locations of the North Warning System.
Another major benefit and feature of Greenex is it’s designation by the EPA as “Safe for Occupied Spaces”. This is a result of extensive testing over a 2 year period to ensure that there are no short or long term health effects from the exposure to Greenex. This certification allows Greenex to be installed in occupied spaces or buildings in the North and Remote communities where there is not a sufficient water supply for conventional fire suppression systems.
By combining Greenex with other measures such as Fire Alarm systems, proper egress and fire stopping you can now build vertically in these communities reducing the land requirements for housing or other structures.
Introducing the Greenport FST
Designed for the North
The Greenport FST Portable Fire Suppression tool, now made exclusively in Canada by SSi Fire Solutions, possesses all of these properties in a portable tool that is ideally suited for the North.
How It Works
In the event of a fire the FST can be activated and deployed into a room or area and then the door closed and people can vacate the structure to safety to await First Responders.
The FST does not require a person to put themselves into harms way while working to mitigate and lower the damage until an emergency response.
Rapid Response
FST is ideal for remote communities who face challenges with Fire fighter response like many Canadian Communities as an additional tool in their tool box.
With limited manpower, or initial response by a Police Officer or other trained person equipped with an FST, a quick attack on the fire can be made with the FST to knock down or possibly extinguish the Fire.
This will provide additional, critical time to mobilize a full response while providing greater survivability for occupants and lower asset loss.
